Narrative Portrait Series

This body of work, explores identity, ancestry, and community through narrative, driven photography. Rooted in personal history and cultural storytelling, these images reflect moments of reflection, legacy, and live experience. The first section (Featured and Collected Work) shows works that have been exhibited at the Contemporary Art Center. (CAC), acquired into the permanent collection at Ashe’ Cultural Arts Center, and published in Seeing Black: Black Photography in New Orleans, 1840 and beyond (UNO press, 2024) The second section (Selected works), highlights personal and exploratory pieces that reflect Sorena's visual voice. These images include self portrait, conceptual, narratives, and intimate moments captured through a more experimental and expressive lens.
